Polish Pottery is crafted in the German Province of Silesia, now a part of Poland.  Designs are inspired by peacock feathers, creating a statement of strength and beauty in each piece. Today, in the small village of Boleslawiec, skilled artisans individually handcraft and hand paint each piece with the same pride and care used over a century ago.

The Technique
The pottery is made with a white clay that is indigenous to the area using gypsum moulds. It is then fired in coal and gas ovens at very high temperatures. Skilled artists hand-paint each piece of using a hand stamping technique as well as free-hand design.  The primary color is cobalt blue with shades of green and reds.  Each piece is a work of art, and no two pieces are exactly alike
